That Time I...
Discovered a Series of Impressive, Uncharted Waterfalls

In addition to seeking out every bluff, cliff, mine, abandoned place, and old tree in the Western U.P., I also hunt down hidden, uncharted waterfalls. I've been to a bazillion of the mapped ones over the years and have now found several small waterfalls that aren't on any maps. Many are ugly and not worth going to or mentioning. A few, like this particular creek in the Ottawa National Forest, are loaded with goodies.
As far as I've been able to find, I'm the first person to properly document and share these waterfalls. There were several of various shapes and sizes, with the last one being a 25' cascade down a narrow gorge. They were beautiful! It was neat knowing that only a handful of people have come across them over the years. Something about miles of bushwhacking keeps prizes like this one well hidden.
I won't say exactly where they are to protect them from being overrun. Instead, I'll guide you with clues! Start in the Trap Hills. Hike the North Country Trail to the Hacking Site, then head north along the railroad tracks until you reach the first significant creek that crosses the tracks. Follow it upstream a ways and you're in the money! Enjoy 3/4 of a mile of rugged, remote waterfalls on a creek very few have seen.
