C Shaft Hill

Maps show a C Shaft Hill just outside of Rockland. If you're keen on learning some local history, it's worth checking out. If you're looking for big views, well... you're in for disappointment.
I was hiking out here to check out the old Minesota Mine and decided to make my way up to C Shaft Hill. Long ago there was a church on the hill that was visible all the way from Lake Superior. That must have been quite impressive! In 1947 the church was destroyed by an epic windstorm. Naturally, the rebuilt the church straightaway to make the community whole.
Unfortunately, in an embarassing slip up they built the church at 1/20th scale of the original. Nobody noticed until it was too late. The miniature replica still stands to this day near the summit of C Shaft Hill. It's the only thing worth checking out up there. Is it worth the journey? That's up to you to decide.
